County Announces Resident Focus Group

The County has announced what I believe is the first Focus Group for residents. Attendance is limited to 50. Washington Plaza Cluster Association and Lake Anne of Reston Condominium (LARCA) residents are invited to participate. I think this means residents of the Heron House, Quayside, Chimney House, and Washington Plaza Cluster only. There will be additional focus groups for other residents and stakeholders at other times. I will post announcements of these as I become aware of them.

The meeting will be on Tuesday, May 17th at 7PM in the Reston Community Center at Lake Anne.
Attendance is limited to 50.

The announcement from the county is here.

Is anyone from our group attending this meeting?

Will it be videotaped and if so, will the tape be available for public review?

As Kimberly has said in e-mails, it is important that we get the message out - are we handing out fliers about our efforts or something similar?

As far as I know, nobody from our group qualifies. This focus group is for residential members of Condos with property in the revitalization district. (That's LARCA and Wash. Plaza Cluster)

There is a Focus Group meeting for commercial owners (technically, I qualify) which I will attend on Thursday.

I have no idea what the meeting format will be, or whether they will be videotaped.

Attended last nights Focus Gp session as an observer and not a participant. The session was not video taped. The program began with explanation of purpose, and progressed through ground rules, values, vision and how revitalization could aid in reaching the respective visions. About 30 people were "participants" and there were a lot of ideas put forth.

With 7 more sessions between now and next Tuesday, 5/24, next week, it may not be possible to transfer all the collected data (flip charts, cards, statements) to the net before all of the sessions are over.
