Vision Statement
The Lake Anne Village Center should be:
We believe that in order to accomplish this vision, future improvements should all be part of a carefully prepared and comprehensive revitalization plan that should evolve from the planned charrette. Meanwhile, piece-meal revitalization projects should not occur until such a plan has been adopted through a consensus-building process. To achieve this, the highest quality design professionals must play a central role in this process. New development or redevelopment should be closely integrated with and architecturally complement the existing center. Structures should be ecologically innovative and should be designed as important additions to the Village Center. Safe and convenient pedestrian, vehicular and public transportation access is essential. New development should not overpower the existing community and should be in scale with existing buildings. There should be a balance among structures, public spaces, and green open spaces.
