At the WPCA Annual Meeting last Tuesday, the Lake Anne RA
Board member, Robin Smyers, gave an overview of the significant changes to the government
documents and the need to vote to approve the new documents. During the session, the new language
regarding cluster liability insurance policies was discussed, but perhaps
without clarifying the issue completely.
ARCH, the Association of Reston Clusters and Homeowners
(to which WPCA belongs) has done some further analysis of these provisions and
has concluded that these provisions are sensible, are not onerous, and do not,
in our judgment, in any way justify voting No on the referendum. The ARCH Issues Bulletin on cluster insurance is
attached and also available on the WPCA website. (ARCH earlier did a thorough analysis of the documents and
strongly recommends that members of RA vote Yes on the new documents.)
As we noted at the meeting, the WPCA
Board recommends that members for Yes for the documents.
At the Annual Meeting, John
Panarelli was elected to the Board representing K-Block and Bryan Smith was
re-elected for B-Block.
